The GCA funded by the National Science Foundation ITEST Program, provides a K16 partnership framework that supports young women and minority high school students for three years and hundreds of hours outside of school to develop the knowledge, skills and personal vision to see science, technology, engineering and mathematical (STEM) studies as feasible and desirable choices for college majors. The Global Challenge is funded, in part, by a National Science Foundation (NSF) award from the Information Technology Experiences for Students (ITEST) program, validating the project’s design for engaging youth in science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning.
